Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Franklin County Auditor's GIS

The Franklin County Auditor’s Geographic Information System (GIS), established in 1987, leverages technology to create maps and perform spatial analysis that supports a wide range of public services.

GIS plays a vital role in enhancing the property appraisal process at the Franklin County Auditor’s Office. It allows users to instantly access detailed information about real estate, visualize appraisal characteristics, and perform spatial data analysis with ease.

The Auditor's GIS provides a variety of products and services to the residents and businesses of Franklin County. These include aerial photography, custom mapping services, and access to frequently updated data to ensure users have the most current information in widely used formats.

Advancements in technology have enabled higher-resolution imagery and improved tools for identifying and sharing spatial data. These innovations help reduce turnaround times, increase accuracy, and make GIS data more accessible, often available directly in a web browser without the need for specialized software.
