Free Shred Hunger Event Set for Saturday, May 9

Franklin County residents can safely dispose of sensitive documents, recycle electronics, and support neighbors in need during the Franklin County Auditor’s Office Shred Hunger event this Saturday, May 9.

The free event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Douglas Community Center, 1250 Windsor Ave., Columbus, OH 43211.

Shred Hunger offers free, secure paper shredding for residents with no limit on the amount of paper they may bring. The event will also include e-waste collection for items such as computers, laptops, cell phones, cameras, printers, copiers, scanners, monitors, televisions, network equipment, and circuit boards.

Residents are also encouraged to bring donations to support NNEMAP Food Pantry, which helps provide food and basic household items to neighbors in need.

Suggested donations include:

  • Canned fruits and vegetables
  • Canned tuna and chicken
  • Peanut butter
  • Toilet paper
  • Disposable razors
  • Toothbrushes
  • Baby products
